"As our business grows, we will expand our services and help our patients achieve their maximum potential. I have dedicated my life to helping others overcome disability. By the grace of God, I found a career that allows me to do that. People say that if you’re doing something you love that you never work a day in your life…I believe this is true."
David Ritchie began his career in the field of Orthotics and Prosthetics in 1991. David knew he was destined for these fields, when in 1981 his father had his left leg amputated below the knee. He had first-hand experience in the challenges an amputee faces and the affect it had on his family.
His father worked hard every day of his life and now had to cope with the physical, mental and emotional challenges that functioning with a prosthetic leg presented. The desire to help his father and family cope and learn to live with this new lifestyle lead him to the field and fueled his passion for orthotics and prosthetics.
The business philosophy of Ritchie Limb & Brace is simple. Provide a quality service that meets the patient’s physical, emotional, and functional goals. At Ritchie Limb & Brace the patient is at the center of everything we do. This service should ensure that the patient is able to achieve their physical, emotional, and functional goals in real life settings.
We respect the patient’s emotional state, encourage their success, and provide functional outcomes that can enhance their lives. At each patient interface, the patient, their family, and their caregivers will be educated on the proper use, care, and precautions associated with their device. Ritchie Limb & Brace, LLC will also be a host site for local support groups such as a local amputee support group. Support groups enable people with similar issues to network with each other and exchange valuable information.
